In all human affairs there are efforts,
and there are results,
and the strength of the effort is the measure of the result.
Fundraising is a tricky business. Where one effort might flop, others soar to excellence, and that’s exactly what happened with the Achatz Pie Fundraiser — EXCELLENCE.
Norma Joshua-Lee, a grandparent of one of our students, suggested this fundraiser, but took it even further — she grabbed the reigns and spearheaded this endeavor. Although it got off to a slow start, by the deadline when Norma checked the Parent Group mailbox, we ended up with orders for more than 238 pies. WOW!

Compiling the orders and submitting them for fulfillment however, was only part of the work involved in finalizing this fundraiser. Once all the orders were placed, the pies needed to be distributed to all our supporters. Thankfully once again our parents and Lutz supporters came through.
A huge thank you to John Nader (who is always willing to roll up his sleeves and jump in and help), Julie Berger (the LPG President), and two dedicated Parent Group volunteers Mary Gersch and Riley Meade for all their help in assisting Norma to make sure all the pies were distributed on a cold and rainy night. It’s commitment like this that fortifies the foundation of our group.
Of course, I would be remiss in not thanking everyone who ordered pies to support this fundraiser.
Donors don’t give to institutions.
They invest in ideas and people in whom they believe. ~ G.T. Smith
Without the support from the parents, guardians, caretakers, and staff that participated…well, we would not be able to tell you that we raised more the $1,300.00 for the Parent Group. Is that AWESOME or what!?
Thank you to everyone for your help and support, but especially to Norma for bringing this fundraising option to us and running with it.

Here’s to a successful fundraiser and more in the future — Thank you!
