Thank you everyone who kept their fingers crossed for a beautiful day for our 2nd Annual Weingartz Fund Raiser, the weather was perfect. Instead of dodging rain drops, thunder, and lightning, we basked in the sun and enjoyed a hefty breeze. Great fun with great people and truly a great success.
A special THANK YOU to Weingartz for sponsoring this fund raiser. They provided all the food, drinks, condiments, paper supplies, tent, cooler, etc. for this event at no charge to us. All proceeds from the fund raiser went directly to the Parent Group. Thank you Sheila and everyone at Weingartz for hosting this very special fund raiser for us. We are truly grateful!

Thank you to everyone that helped make this year’s fund raiser even more successful than last year. We beat last year’s total in sales and donations which in great part is due to the great organization and perseverance of Ann Martin. Thank you so much for all you do.
Another contributing factor was no doubt the new addition of giving away a free cookie prepared, bagged, and tagged by the Food Prep class with every purchase (another great idea from Ann). At the end of the day there was a scant baker’s dozen left and one Weingartz employee asked if he could purchase them. In lieu of charging him for them, he made a donation after proclaiming “They were so good I had to come back — one cookie was just not enough!”
Of course, hosting an event like this would not have been possible without all the help from the wonderful volunteers, teachers, staff, and Parent Group members that braved the 80+ degree weather. It is their hard work that truly pulls fund raisers together and keeps our fund raising efforts going.
Thank you also to all the students that came to support their parents, eat hot dogs, drink pop, encourage passing cars to stop and purchase a hot dog lunch (at least 5 people told us they stopped just because they saw the students out there waving their signs), and most importantly serve as a reminder as to WHY we do this!
That’s not all the students that participated, but as the day got busier, my photo taking priorities waned – sorry about that. Know though that there were a good number of students that came to support us at Weingartz.
Finally, thank you to everyone who stopped by to purchase a hot dog lunch or donate money to make this year’s fund raiser even better than last. We cannot emphasize enough that NONE OF THIS WOULD BE POSSIBLE WITHOUT YOU.
So another fund raiser comes to a close, once again successful and full of memories our students can take with them as they navigate the years ahead.
As for me — well, Sandy I should have taken you up on your offer of sunscreen. Zack’s neck and face and my back, arms, and pretty much any part that wasn’t covered with clothing is sun burned. So we are chilling in the cooling evening air and looking forward to a milder day tomorrow working out in the garden — this time with hats, sunscreen, and for me definitely a long sleeve shirt. I’m glad the weather held out and was so perfect for the fund raiser, I’m not so glad I didn’t prepare a little better for the “perfection.”
