Daily Challenge for 8/9/21

It made me very “Happy” to hear about all the wonderful ways all of you are/were helpful. I know that helping others makes me very happy, so I know the joy that it brought all of you to help out around the house, at work, or wherever you were able to pitch in and make a difference! Here is what was shared:

Can you remember a time when you were helpful and it made you and whoever you were helping happy? Tell us about it.:

  • Antonya: I was happy to help my friends and my family clean and get things ready. I been helping others in my life for years
  • Suzanne: I help my mom and dad out
  • Brendan J: My brother used to have a side job set up and taking down risers. Sometimes, I was able to help Brian. It was too big a job for me to manage any part alone. But, I liked getting to assist him.
  • Dominique: Doing my chores, Taking care of pet NAGEL for 13 14 15 days until Sunday that next week when my sister coming back that day
  • Megan: I bought my friend a coloring book and crayons for a trip. He was surprised I thought of that and it made me happy to know that it made him happy.
  • Zachary L: When my Dad went to work on a Saturday I went with him and helped him by putting things on the shelf for him (toilet paper, paper towels and other stuff for the office) and then I helped him copy papers. That made me happy helping him and my Dad was happy too!
  • Samantha: I helped my mom at the store and brought the groceries in
  • Brandon B: I helped us moved to the new house
  • Roxanne: I accompany my mother along when she is caregiving. She sometimes needed an extra hand, when lifting up a person from a seated position. I have helped get a person on their feet, so they can use their walker to get rolling along.
  • Matthew: One time recently my mom was choking on her own saliva. And I saw that her drink glass was empty so I filled it with water. I brought it to her and asked her, “Are you okay?” She said, “Yes.” This meant a lot to my mom and I felt good that I helped her.
  • Taylor: I used to help my mommy Babysitting. I made the ice I made my bed
  • Zack D: I help my mom in the garden by moving dirt, mulch, and compost and helping her pick tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, peas, and everything.

Being helpful is so important and it is so great that everyone does their part!

Today we are going to have…

Something else that makes people happy is to be creative. When we create anything, be it in the kitchen, on paper, in our minds, or however we do it, the sense of accomplishment and the pride of finishing something fills you with a happiness sometimes not easily expressed in words.

Our creativity comes alive when we do art, write, dance, play music, cook, decorate, take selfies and do countless other daily activities.

We also express our creativity when we find solutions to challenges at home or work, or when we think outside the box.

When we’re in the creative zone, we feel energized, inspired, and productive.

So, how can you be creative today? The options are many, and it’s all up to you. Will you whip up something new and exciting in the kitchen? How about starting a new drawing or coloring project? What about making up a new dance or putting together a video? Maybe it’s disassembling or assembling something (like a vacuum)? Maybe you like to sing songs? I know I like to do craft projects, so that is always a way to be creative. Taking pictures is another great way to be creative. Selfies shared bring happiness to everyone involved!

That is today’s challenge. Get creative. Do something that makes you happy that involves being creative, whatever it might be. But give this some thought. Don’t just rush into it, trying to get it done, so you can say you did it. That isn’t the point. The point is to enjoy the process. Truly make happiness grow and explode as you create your Monday Masterpiece. There is a form below to share what you choose to do, but sending in a photo of your creation would be awesome as well. It’s always a plus to have a permanent reminder of things that we do.

If you can’t think of anything to do today, then maybe share something that you did in the past that was creative and brought you great joy. Maybe thinking about things you’ve done, will inspire you to do something today.

It was unfortunate that the rain yesterday didn’t last long enough for most of you to get out and enjoy it. August is typically hot and humid, and it surely will not disappoint this week. Stay cool, stay hydrated, and as always Keep In Touch!
