Daily Challenge for 8/11/21

Good Morning,

This morning I have to share the response from Brendan J. for yesterday’s challenge and another email he sent later in the day.

Brendan J’s August 10 Daily Challenge Response

What goal are you going to complete today to fill you with happiness and a sense of satisfaction in a job well done?

This isn’t exactly a goal but it makes us happy! And will be a wonderful surprise for my dad, too! Brian is flying in this afternoon! VERY short visit due to his schedule. But, my brother hasn’t been home since Christmas 2017.

I am so excited to see my brother! I think his visit may be even better than making S’Mores!

PS: We’re not sure if we’ll dine with homemade or pick something up.

The email received later included the photo and this message:

“Here I am with “S’More” of my family. Here is my Big Brother Brian!”

Well I certainly think Brendan and his family had a “happy” day yesterday and them sharing their joy brought us great joy as well. In turn, hopefully seeing those brothers reunited brings a smile to your face today too!

Here are the s’more cookies Zack and I made yesterday. The dough has graham cracker crumbs mixed right in and then they were topped with marshmallow and chocolate. Really good!

Most of yesterdays participants did not have the ingredients to make anything “s’more-like,” but they were going to try making something else for Tasty Tuesday and that was the point. Our Daily Challenges are to challenge you to make every day The Best Day Ever and how you do it, is really all up to you. All we do is try and offer ideas, suggestions, and activities to “inspire” you to reach that goal.

This brings us to today’s challenge, yet another way to bring you and those around you happiness.

Inspiration often appears unexpectedly, like when the solution for something pops into our minds while we’re immersed in a completely unrelated task.

Inspiration even appears when we’re not seeking it because we never know when a new experience, someone else’s insights, or something we’ve read or heard will inspire us to take action or think different.

Even though inspiration energizes us, we still must act upon its wisdom if we’re to benefit from its intended happiness.

What inspired you today?

Inspiration can be found in many forms. Some people draw or color when they are inspired. Others may write or create a dance. Some may design clothing or perhaps delve into the world of mechanics and tear something apart to find out what makes it tick (or vacuum). Some might experiment with new recipes when inspired by the bounty they harvest from their garden or find at a local farmer’s market.

Inspiration is found everywhere. The trick is to do something with it.

There are countless ways to be “inspired” and even more ways to use your “inspiration.” Today’s challenge offers just one way to express this. In the past we have written poems and each time you did not disappoint with your responses. Therefore, today we will once again challenge you to find the inspiration to complete a poem. The topic or theme —

AUGUST of course!

Your challenge is to think about all the things that make August special, unique, wonderful, and exciting. Then, see if you can write six lines, each starting with the letters from the word AUGUST, to share your inspired feelings. Here’s an example:

Amazing and beautiful.

Unbearably hot.

Green vegetables plentiful.

Usually humid.

September coming soon.

Time to relax.

That is today’s challenge.
