Announcements Week of October 12th 2020

Good Morning!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed the warm weather we got lucky to have.  You all at this point should have gotten a Remind invitation from me as well as a message coming your way about food options for your young adults. I have created two groups for in-person and remote learners so I can ensure you are only receiving specific information about your young adults education and activities. Please feel free to contact me if you prefer a specific mode of communication of text vs email or need another name and contact added in. Below you will find important information for things to come.

 Lutz and Beyond:

Attached you will find a flyer inviting everyone to our first every Lutz and Beyond virtual event. We will be joined by some wonderful people to talk to you about the services their organizations offer. We really look forward to having as many attend this event.

·         October 22nd   6:00 – 8:00 PM·

 Halloween Trunk or Treat

As many of you know one of our most loved events of the year is our Halloween dance. Unfortunately we cannot host these types of events at this time that require large numbers of students in one area. So this year The Lutz Parent Group has decided to host a Trunk of Treat event on the evening of October 29th. The event will run much like our summer parade. Students will stay in their vehicles and follow the track around the outside of the parking lot. Staff and former completers will be there to hand out candy. We will provide bags for students at the front of the line. Students and or families are welcome to wear costumes!

·         PLEASE RSVP for this event by October 20th by sending an email to the parent group email below.

Gleaners:

Attached are Gleaners flyers for Lutz and Flynn Schools. Please encourage any family, friends or neighbors to come to either site and grab a box or two of food for whoever may need it!

Student Pictures:

We will be working with Keiser studio this year on 3 different days to ensure all students have the opportunity to get their photos taken. Below are the dates that will be scheduled for picture days. As we get closer we will notify families which students will be on which of these 3 days. Please know this may change as we reevaluate our current hybrid and virtual programming at the end of the first quarter in late November.

·         12/4 – Virtual Students (non- staff and student day to ensure very low numbers, RSVP will be required)

·         12/7 – Monday A scheduled students

·         12/8 – Tuesday B schedule students

Snack Store:

Courtesy of our Vocational Readiness classroom our snack store is up and running. Please see the attached “menu” of options that students can purchase in the morning. Please connect with your classroom teacher if you feel your young adult will need support in notifying them they would like to purchase an item or two for snack or lunch.

Have a great start to your week!
