Hello Lutz Families,
Among the many suggestions I received for Card Exchange ideas, one that several people suggested was a Birthday Month Card Exchange.
A Birthday Month Card Exchange would work as follows:
- You sign-up for the Exchange by completing the sign-up form at the bottom of this page. The information you provide will not be available on the website. Your address will only be emailed privately to other Birthday Card Exchange participants.
- Starting April 1st, you will receive a list of all the participants with their addresses that have birthdays in April.
- You send out a card to EACH of the participants on the list.
- During your birthday month, ALL the participants will in turn send you a card.
So, in theory, if you sign-up and send out 20 cards throughout the year, you would in turn receive 20 cards during your birthday month. Sounds a little like a chain-letter doesn’t it? But hopefully more fun!
Additionally, I am considering contacting the teachers and staff at Lutz School to see if they would be interested in signing up for a RECEIVE ONLY option. This would give the students (past and present) an opportunity to send birthday greetings to the teachers and staff during their birthday months. All cards would be sent to the school and it would not be required for you to send to all the teachers and staff that sign-up (if any do), but wouldn’t it be a nice way to show appreciation for them regardless if you know them from the school or had them for a teacher. ALL the staff at Lutz School give 110% all year for the students. Remembering them on their MOST IMPORTANT DAY OF THE YEAR is just one small way to say thank you. I have included a question as to whether you would be interested in participating in sending cards to teachers and staff on the sign-up form.
Finally, for those that sign up, birthday cards can be purchased at the Dollar Tree 2 for $1.00 or Walmart offers boxes of 12 cards for $1.99 (usually found on an endcap). Buy a few cards, get a couple stamps, and make some friends very happy for their birthday!
Hope you sign-up. Zack’s already got his cards and now just needs someone to send them to. Complete the form below to sign-up.
