Earth Day Story:
Hannah will never forget this Earth Day 2021. The day started out like any other day, but you won’t believe what happened next! While getting her newspapers ready to donate to the local church, Hannah was feeling melancholy. She still had to mow her lawns and drop down the crabgrass prevention. She rushed over to the church, with her bag of newspapers to donate. When she opened the lid to place her brown paper bag filled with newspapers inside, imagine her surprise when she found a $5.00 bill inside! Hannah was so excited! She had never found money before in her life! She managed to lean deep inside and grab the money. Hannah decided to stop at the local grocery store on the way home. She played the Daily 4 in the lottery, using the birth year of her parents, straight and boxed! Hannah was around back in 1970, when the first Earth Day began. Earth Day 2021 will always be one to remember though.

Summertime
Smells like body odor
Sounds like exciting
Taste like sweet and cold
Feels hot
Summertime is happy

My Computer
I see my black computer.
I hear my computer keys clacking as I type.
The computer starts out cool but warms as I use it.
Darn! My computer does not have a smell.
Darn again! I cannot taste my computer.

5-Senses Poem:
Octopi
An octopus smells fishy.
It sounds like swishing water.
They taste briny.
An octopus feels smooth and muscular, with sticky tentacles.
It looks like a blob with 8 legs.
FISHY, SWISHY, BRINY, STICKY, BLOBBY…that’s what octopi are all about.

My Fashion Show
I See models on the runway and rhinestone high heels and
Wardrobes and spotlights, too.
I Smell perfume and hairspray.
I taste coke and candy and
All kinds of really good food.
I Hear music and clapping and
Cheering and snapping and
Oohing and ahhing – it’s loud!
I Feel happy and excited
My Dress feels soft and silky and
I feel very proud!

Outdoors
Smells like flowers, pollen
Sounds like singing birds, bees buzzing
Tastes like sweet or our
Soft grass, hard wood trees
Outside at home in my backyard.

5-Senses Poem:
“SPRING” by Matthew Scherer
I SEE the bright and yellow daffodils standing upright in the sunny flowerbeds.
I SMELL the freshly-mowed grass and later smell the nasty stench of souring grass clippings in the trash can heating up on a warm day.
I TASTE some freshly-brewed, cold, refreshing and thirst-quenching iced tea.
I HEAR birds happily chirping loudly, frequently and repeatedly as they gather around the multi-holed bird feeder.
I FEEL the warm sun shining on my skin while the cool light wind blows a tickling breeze as well.
SPRING IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE SEASONS!!
