If your student is not going to be attending school, there are two phone calls that you will need to make:

1. Lutz School can be reached at (586) 286-0230. Please call before 7:25 a.m. of the day your student will be absent. If you call before the office is open, leave your student’s name, teacher and/or classroom, and indicate that they will be absent from school.
2. The Transportation Department needs to be notified not to pick up your student at (586) 228-3333. You will need to give them your student’s name, school they attend, and bus number. They have an after-hours answering machine if you cannot call between their regular hours of operation from 5:30 a.m. through 5:30 p.m.

If your student is absent three days in a row, without notifying the Transportation Department of the absence, the bus will not return to your home until you contact them.
