Weekly Announcements November 16, 2020

Good afternoon everyone!

Its wild that we have gotten through our 9th week of school already but even more amazing that we have done it in the middle of a pandemic. I really want to thanks everyone’s patience and understanding as we have waded through this new normal. Our teachers and staff have really stepped out of their comfort zone and you have allowed and trusted us to do so. I cannot tell you how grateful we are to have made it to this point and kept most all students engaged and learning.

Lutz Annual Holiday Sale: Attached you will find the fliers and order forms for the spirit wear sale we are having form now-December 1st. Ann Martin from the parent group will be organizing the sale so please reach out to her with specific questions about what clothes are available. The office will be accepting order forms and payments. Please send those with students or call to drop off. Click here for more information: Spirit Wear Sale

Veterans day:  Our staff and students lead by the Pledge of Allegiance committee put together a really nice lawn tribute to our veterans with the words, “we thank our veterans” on lawn signs in front of the school Each classroom made a sign that went out front. Classes also spend the day learning about all the sacrifices our brave Men and Women have made for our country. With the support of our families we also raised  $468.35 for the Wounded Warriors and because we got it sent in on the 11th they doubled our donation making it almost $1,000!

Holiday Donation: In the past out student council has always put on a donation fundraiser for DHS to collect specific items during our fall spirit week. This year will look a little different as the DHS website has a direct link to amazon with specific items that can be purchased and directly send to their headquarters. This will eliminate the need for these items to be sent to school. Please click below for more info:

Achatz Pies:  Ann Martin from the Lutz Parent Group was in today sorting orders from our recent Pie Fundraisers through Achatz Pie Co. We will start sending those coupons and receipts home next week with in person learners. We will mail home all other remote learners coupons unless you would prefer to pick them up. Please call the office to make those arrangements.

Parent Teacher Conferences: I said this to many times – this year is obviously going to look different for our conferences. Attached is a letter to parents and guardians discussing the process. We will be holding all virtual conference this year via zoom or phone call. The date will be December 3rd. Your young adult’s teacher will be reaching out to setup those times.

 Have a great weekend everyone!
