As we enter the first full week back to school I wanted to share with you a few things the Lutz Parent Group worked on through the break and some upcoming events you won’t want to miss.

This year, thanks to a bit of inspiration from John and Nick and the creative genius of Ann Martin (LPG Fundraising and Spirit Wear), the Parent Group put together a little something for all the teachers and staff to kick off the 2019/2020 school year. Along with John and Nick, custom planners were ordered to help everyone stay on track throughout the coming year. To top this all off, Ann came up with a cute pillbox token to express how much the support that everyone at Lutz always gives our students, the parents, and the parent group means to us. Finally, we tied it all together with a handmade card and poem. Check out the photos below:

What a great way to start the year off right! Thank you to everyone who helped with this endeavor.

In addition to the New School Year Kick-Off Project, plans are well underway for the upcoming Halloween Dance. Mark your calendars for October 24, 2019. The dance will start at 6:30 and run until 8:30. There will be music, dancing, costumes, pizza, apple cider, donuts, and fresh apples with hot caramel sauce…

Does it get any more Fall than that?!!

More information along with registration forms will be sent home closer to the date, but be sure to mark this one on the calendar. It is typically the biggest dance of the year. With the Lutz & Beyond Seminar being held that night as well, there will be some great programs and information for parents and caregivers to learn about. I have attended this seminar four times and have learned something new each time. You don’t want to miss it. However…if you don’t plan on attending the Lutz & Beyond seminar, we will be sending out a request for parent volunteers to help out at the dance. Please consider volunteering. Remember, we can’t possibly run events without parental involvement and support.

This Tuesday, September 10, is the first Parent Group Meeting of the new school year and we really hope you will come. We have most of the dates set for events for the coming year (a flyer will be coming out via email shortly) and these events as well as upcoming fundraisers and much more will be discussed. Please join us to show your support.
