Announcements Week of November 23, 2020

Good morning Lutz families and caregivers! I apologize for the long email but we have lots of information to share this week.

The past two weeks have certainly put our students, staff, community and state to the test. We have seen major increases in positive cases throughout the state especially right here in Macomb. This has led to the shutdown of secondary education as well as the decision from our ISD to temporarily shift to remote learning until 12/9. Our staff has kicked it into high gear this week preparing remote learning plans for all of their students. I am proud of their efforts to quickly organize and plan with their colleagues to quickly get a program setup for virtual learning for all 312 Lutz and STEP students.

Remote Framework Lutz Community

**Below is a remote learning framework our teachers and staff will be operating off of for the next 8 school days until December 9th, when we are scheduled to return to in person. This was developed by our staff to ensure our students maintain a realistic schedule and provide multiple opportunities for engagement with their classroom staff and peers. Each classroom has created their own specific framework that fits best for their group of learners based off of the document below.

Please reach out to your classroom teacher for specific agenda information, technology or materials questions and we will be sure to get you the help you need. You will also find the numbers of our social worker and school psychologist for any resource or at home behavioral information/help you may need while we are remote.

The office will be open every day during normal hours besides our thanksgiving break. We can be reached at 586-286-0230

LASTLY!!  For those of you who have not heard I would like to introduce Paul Yestrepsky   (pyestrepsky@misd.net)  our NEW Assistant Principal. He started this week and has already made a huge difference. He came to use from Warren Con and has 14 years administrative experience. We are lucky to have him.

Below are our upcoming announcements
